About every other Wednesday. Last one was Wednesday, Feb 19. |
Don't forget they said it's for 26/27! |
I believe ECNL will have a transition plan for 25/26 season. |
Tend to agree. No matter what they picked there would be a very vocal groups of parents explaining why it is so stupid. For me personally I am happy since my August kid stays with her current team and classmates. Who cares if she is the youngest, she will deal with it. She has always been the youngest in her grade too. |
The age cutoffs will not change before August 2026. So a year and a half from now. That's for sure. But that's the only thing that's for sure. How any organization decides to transition over the next 1.5 years is anyone's guess. |
2 steps ... step 1, ask coach to recruit good sept/Q4 players between now and then, not necessarily needing them to join the club this season step 2, ask coach to tell parents of other birth months not to worry/not much will change/it doesn't affect you. |

WI? U.S. Youth Soccer, the governing body for the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) and Oregon SC, will return to using "school years" to determine age groups starting in the 2026-2027 season. Age groups will be comprised of players born between Sept. 1 and Aug. 31 of the following year, aligning closely to school grades. U.S. Youth Soccer, and all of U.S. Soccer, previously used this format with slightly different dates until changing to the current birth year age groups in the 2017-2018 season. The 2025-2026 season will proceed using birth year age groups. While we know this change will likely generate questions, we haven't yet received any further details from U.S. Youth Soccer. We will be sure to provide updates when they are available โ that could possibly include at our Annual General Meeting, which is Sunday night at the Oregon High School Innovation Center. The Oregon SC Board of Directors is committed to helping create a smooth transition for club players and families into the school year age groups in Fall 2026. We will collaborate with our colleagues at WYSA, MAYSA and other local and statewide clubs, and gather feedback from club members to help in this process. Throughout this transition, please know that Oregon SC remains committed to fostering youth growth and development through soccer and enjoyment of the game, as has been our mission since the club was founded in 1978. We're seeking candidates for several voting positions: Recreational Commissioner, Academy Commissioner and 6U-8U In-House Commissioner. Also up for election at the AGM on Sunday are the Vice President, Treasurer and Assistant Competitive Commissioner positions. These are two-year terms that start July 1, 2025, and run through June 30, 2027. If you are interested in standing for election or have questions about the roles, please contact Eric Anderson at president@oregonsc.com and Beth Schwantes at secretary@oregonsc.com. #oregonsoccerclub #SupportLocalSoccer #HometownSoccer #MakeYouthSoccerBetter |
