Should I close the transferred card?

Anonymous
I am not good with credit cards so I need guidance. I recently transferred a $5500 balance to a 0% if paid in 12 months card. I only had the old card for 15 months. How impactful to my score would it be to close it? I don't need the old card and don't want the temptation.

Get rid of it. Eliminating the "temptation" will way more than make up for any temporary damage to your credit rating.

No. Having a high credit limit can be low utilization.

Never. Just shred the card. Do not close it.

Don’t close it. Also, don’t use it.

What card is it? How old are you? Does it have a fee? Does it give you cash back?
Keep it simple. Stop opening and closing them. You need a few and that's it.

Have you attempted therapy for your anxiety?

Don't close the card. Just shred it and forget. Close it only if you are paying annual fees.
