DC Death with dignity in practice?

Does anyone how well the the physician assisted law in DC works in practice? Are people able to find doctors to prescribe the medication? Trying to decide if this is enough of a pro to move into a condo in DC when we downsize. We're currently in MD and understand there's a residency requirement (6 months?) before you're eligible.
