Seeing Into the Woods -- help me commute

Trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Live in Loudoun. Have a doctor's appointment at 3:30 in Fairfax near Vienna Metro. Planning to have dinner near 14th and F at 5:30 and go to the KC between 6:30 and 7. Show ends at 7:30.

Trying to avoid parking twice.

Option one: Park at Vienna Metro, take Orange line in to dinner. Uber to KC. Take Orange Line back out to Vienna, get car and go home. Seems like a slow way to go and a late night but might be less hassle? And cheaper? Does KC still run shuttles from KC to Foggy Bottom?

Option two: Fight whatever traffic there is into the city, park car near dinner, Uber to KC, Uber back to car, drive home.

Anyone seen the show? When does it end?

Can you do your dinner in Foggy Bottom instead? We typically go somewhere around there and catch the shuttle from FB to KC and then Uber home (order your Uber the second the show ends).

Sorry I meant to say show STARTS at 7:30. Not sure when it ends. Guessing around 10?

This is a great idea, but there's a very specific restaurant we're going to near Metro Center.

It ends closer to 10:30.

I would absolutely just park near the metro and take metro wherever you can, grab an uber if you need to. I personally don't mind the walk from KC to Foggy Bottom. Usually I like a brisk walk after sitting in a theater for a few hours anyway. I'm not sure if they still run a shuttle, but that should be discoverable online on the KC site.

If you drive, I would not uber to and from KC. I'd plan on parking on the street near the restaurant and then driving to KC and parking in one of the garages there. You can buy parking in advance at KC if you are worried about a spot. Parking near the restaurant will be a pain but you could use SpotHero to ensure you find something.

My preference would be metro though just because I think driving around in the city at those hours is a pain and I would not want to spend like $60 on parking on a night where I was already buying a nice dinner out and seeing a show. I'd just uber from restaurant to KC and metro everywhere else.

I would do option 2, but tweak it to park at/near Kennedy Center. It's easy to hop on/off 66 from that garage. Doubling back towards Metro Center only adds travel time at the end of a long day.

As long as your doctor's appointment ends by 4:30 or so, you should have time to make those logistics work.

And after the show, you can just head home directly in your car when you are tired.

Problem is all the parking around the KC is like $50 or more on spot hero

Park at the Kennedy center itself. It is way less than $50.

I saw it three times in NYC and am seeing it again at KC. It will be great - cast is amazing. They are all great but I especially love Gavin Creel's prince. Check him out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwRkIvRqcbY
