| I know ODU ranks higher for the major but VT is maybe slightly higher overall. While neither are UVA/W&M/W&L etc does it really matter? |
| I’d go with the one that vibes with your kid the best. So, where do they feel most comfortable? |
| VT so your child will have more options when they leave teaching. |
Troll. VT is ranked #62 nationally. ODU is #156. |
| It probably doesn't matter one bit. Demand for elementary school teachers is very strong, and employment is pretty much a sure thing after successfully graduating, assuming reasonable social skills which adequately support interviewing when applying for jobs. |
Not accurate - according to USNews the MS in Education at ODU ranks much higher than VT....see for yourself. |
Op is talking about the ranking for a particular major- not overall ranking. |
Irrelevant for elementary Ed. |
+1 |
| But if they are teaching in VA does ranking matter? |
It doesn’t matter anyway |
| Do they want to live near the mountains or near the beach? |
Also, student teaching in Blacksburg vs. Norfolk is going to be a much different experience. |
When leaving after years of experience in teaching, the schools don't really matter anymore for the most part. However I would pick VT just for the heck of it. |
| I'd pick ODU for the beach...... |
