VT or ODU for elementary Ed

Anonymous
I know ODU ranks higher for the major but VT is maybe slightly higher overall. While neither are UVA/W&M/W&L etc does it really matter?

I’d go with the one that vibes with your kid the best. So, where do they feel most comfortable?

VT so your child will have more options when they leave teaching.

Troll. VT is ranked #62 nationally. ODU is #156.

It probably doesn't matter one bit. Demand for elementary school teachers is very strong, and employment is pretty much a sure thing after successfully graduating, assuming reasonable social skills which adequately support interviewing when applying for jobs.

Not accurate - according to USNews the MS in Education at ODU ranks much higher than VT....see for yourself.

Op is talking about the ranking for a particular major- not overall ranking.

Also, student teaching in Blacksburg vs. Norfolk is going to be a much different experience.

When leaving after years of experience in teaching, the schools don't really matter anymore for the most part.

However I would pick VT just for the heck of it.

I'd pick ODU for the beach......
