UN Repartition

Why can't UN make it mandatory for every country to return pieces of heritage of other countries they took. Why is this so ambiguous, not simple morality? Why British royals feel morally justified in wearing colonial looting even in 2023?

Because the UN isn’t a dictatorship.

Repatriate all the artifacts so that terrorists and warlords can steal it, trash it, et cetera...

I’d settle for getting China and Russia off the permanent UN Security Council. Temporary members fine but not permanent.

Russia shouldn't even have a seat. The seat was the USSR's. Russia is not the USSR.

A lot of "loot" was purchased legally or found. Only recently have people changed their minds and started asking for it back. Preying on white guilt to get stuff that people sold earlier is a way of getting a windfall but I'm not sure it's morally superior.

Even more reason to get them off the UN Insecurity Council.

Re the after this one - I would presume they would have pretty strict criteria for proving connection to stolen artifacts. I’m for it if done right and not in corrupt ways. It was bad enough to have a history of colonialism let alone having meaningful artifacts taken from your culture/People.

The vast majority of this so-called stuff that was "taken" was acquired legally. Should all the European art owned by the Saudis and Emiratis be returned?
