Payroll Services

We are starting up a nanny share and would appreciate any recommendations for payroll services people have liked. In addition, does each family in a nanny share need their own subscription or are there any services that allow one family to share a subscription for a single employee (but have separate family tax ID numbers, both get tax benefits, etc)?

Each family in a nanny share needs a separate account.

I have a referral code for $90 off GTM's services if you want to post your email address I can send you info.

You each need a separate account. We use Poppins Payroll and have had a good experience. It's also the cheapest option. Be careful when comparing prices - other companies look like they're less per month, but then you have to pay for different tax filings. Poppins is just a flat rate, no hidden fees.

You'll each need to pay for 20 hours, essentially. If you try and pay 40 hours at half the cost (in our case, $13 each per hour) Poppins will stop you because it thinks you're paying less than minimum wage. You have to pay 20 hours at $26 each to get it to work.

I really like Homepay (thru care.com) but have not used it for a nanny share. The customer service is very responsive and answers any and all questions I have - even about employment law in my state and so forth. they also can personalize your payroll to a certain extent, so maybe they can get around the issue the poppins user had?

Homework solutions is the go to in the industry for questions, and they have a free tax calculator you can use to figure out your all in cost.

My nannyshare uses Poppins and we each pay $15 an hour for 40 hours a week.

OP, we used Sure Payroll. I wouldn't recommend it. They were expensive and provided only mediocre support.
