Wegovy isn’t working

Anonymous
Yesterday was my second injection. I thought I did it wrong last week when I didn’t experience the lack of hunger that everyone talks about. I made sure to inject correctly last night and nothing… I don’t feel any different from when I’m not taking any medication. It is the lowest dose but I’m surprised to feel no different at all. Still eating the exact same. Has anyone experienced weight loss despite nothing after the first two doses? I’m 5’4” and 215lbs with bad cholesterol and high blood sugar so I was really hoping this would work. Be nice please.

I am not on it myself, but I understand it takes a while. You may need to slowly work up to an effective dose. If you go too fast you'll get ill.

You’re on a very low dose so far. It doesn’t work immediately for everyone. Sorry your doctor didn’t set your expectations appropriately.

It isn’t magic.it is working for me but very slowly. Like 2 lbs a month.

Gee, I am not on it but I know that for many people it does nothing until you get to a higher dose.

If you're doing it correctly and starting off at 0.25, it may take several months as you ramp up doses to start feeling the effects and seeing any weight loss. Although many people do lose weight on the earliest doses, many more do not. You need to trust the process and give it time. You should however move up a level when you've finished your first four weeks, as the recommended dosing chart says; but don't jump higher than that or you could make yourself really sick.

Do not worry until you get to higher doses. Many people find 1 is the first time they feel a real effect.

You’ve only taken two doses? You’re fine. You’re building up to the actual dosage. It’s VERY normal to not feel anything until you’re up to 1.0mg.
This isn’t a miracle drug. You have to eat sensibly and exercise. Drink lots of water. And it is normal to feel hunger.

Weigh yourself everyday at the same time naked, but only record the weight on one day of the week. For me it’s every Saturday. I take my dose on Monday evenings.

Some people like me are non-responders. Believe me this is a tough truth but although I feel less appetite ,I loose nothing. I think its because Im on 25 lds overweight

No, you can't. That's why you're on Wegovy. Just be patient and let the dose increase.

+1. A person with no legs doesn't say they can get up and walk on their own. It's fine to rely on Wegovy.

Just be patient! You are only on the second shot. That’s .25 while the maximum dose is 2.4 so almost TEN times the dose.

Additionally there is still some medication left on your system after a week so as you go up and continue taking doses you get that weeks dose plus the left over affect from the previous week. The half-life of semaglutide is 7 days. This means half of the medication is still present on your body after 7 days . So if you are taking 1.0 after a week .5 is left now add to that the new 1.0 dose and you really have 1.5. Or if you take 2.4 the half life after a week is 1.2 so really you have on 3.6 (actually more because you would have 1/4 left over from two weeks previously.)

Long explanation but basically you ate on such a teeny tiny dose right now.
