The latest Marvel movie...is it good/worth spending theater money?
I am not particularly a fan of Ant-Man and Wasp but meh, would go if it's not boring. |
| I have seen/heard nothing but savagely negative reviews for this. |
| Not good, but the next few years of Marvel are based on it so if you plan on seeing those movies, you need to see this one. |

I'm not a huge marvel person - saw and liked the avengers, but missed most of the others.
I liked Quantumania quite a bit. The "world" they created was fantastical and cool looking. It was funny at times, good action, decent story. I mean, it's not an award winner but definitely above bar for being worth the price of a ticket. Also, it's only 2 hrs 5 min long (actually think it clocked in lower) - so not one of those horribly long movies. |
| I get squicked out by insects, so not even able to watch this. |

No spoilers.
It's not boring. I think it's a decent $5 Tuesday movie. I was a huge Marvel fan up through Endgame. Most of their movies have been pretty disappointing since then, and this is no exception. The writing is pretty bad. There's a lot of unrealistic "I don't have time to explain" moments where characters could've prevented a bunch of issues if they'd just given a 1-2 sentence explanation. Johnathan Majors does a great job with what he's been given, but his character seems wasted in this film. Visuals and budget aside, the plot and writing feel like a made-for-cable movie. |
