Mental health days

My high school student wants to take a couple of mental health days. Is there anything special I need to tell the attendance secretary to make sure it’s a n excused absence? Or do I just say she’s sick?

I would just say she’s sick. No need to provide details.

I reported mine as sick and gave them two days off, it was excused!

It might not be excused without a doctor's note depending on how strict your school is, but most teachers should work with you.

A parent may excuse up to four days in a row. No doctor’s note needed. I just email that my kids are not feeling well.
