Tips/tricks for monitoring at shady grove?

I’ve only don’t it once at the K st location. I made the first appointment (7am) but still waited over a half hour to be seen. People who got there after me were seen before me, so it doesn’t seem to be first come first serve?

With my work situation, it’s really ideal to be seen right at 7. I could make it to sibley for monitoring although it would add 15 min to my commute — do they move significantly faster?

Would arriving before doors open at 7 get me seen faster?

Really any advice about how to get in and out of monitoring faster and earlier is appreciated

I had a similar problem with Columbia but when I very nicely explained my work situation they were much better about taking me first. I also found it better to get blood work done before my sono because I could leave right after the sono but would be at the end of the line for blood work. Sorry I know it’s a different practice but had the same problem and thought it might be helpful.

Yes, Sibley is quick! Easy parking, too.

What time do they start monitoring? I’ve been hesitating on moving forward with IVF because my anxiety about being late to work was so high.

So, theoretically you get put in the queue based on when you arrive but what happens is they check you in and then your chart gets printed in the lab area and then they call you up in order of the charts being printed. If your chart gets sent to a printer that is not working, you don't get into the queue. This happened multiple times while I was going through IVF and seemed to be more of an issue in the morning. Typically someone would go up to the desk to check and then they would uncover the problem and start bringing in all of the people who's charts went to the offline printer. A couple of times I got there before 7 and there was a line of people who needed to be in and out so my advice would be to get there before they open, be the first or second person checked in, and then if you aren't called first or second ask if there is an issue and make sure they know you need to leave. Personally, I started going in at 9 because there was hardly ever a line at that time and I could easily get in and out but I know that most people don't have that kind of flexibility.

Wow, this is really helpful, OP.

They start their monitoring at 7:15, but I will caution that they aren't always open during the stated M-F hours. I did 3 rounds of FET last year, and I preferred going to Sibley, but about half the time they "didn't have the staff" to work the Sibley location, and thus weren't opening the office. Now it has been a while since I have needed to schedule with them, so maybe they have worked on the staffing issue, but it was super frustrating at the time because my other options were K St or Rockville.

Yes, arriving before 7am would get you seen earlier. As others have said, they see you in the order you arrive so there are several 7am appointments and it is possible the 7:15am patients are showing up by 7am, too. (Since all the 7am appointments were gone…in theory.)

I didn’t go to that office, but my monitoring was usually bloodwork—back to lobby for a few minutes—then sono—pay/set next appointment—gone.
