| I am considering purchasing a returned lease Lexus. Does Lexus require lessees to do regular maintenance on these vehicles? Do they need to provide proof of maintenance? Thanks. |
| You would have to check the paperwork for the car service history. If a dealer serviced it they will have records to look up, if the lease owner serviced it independently probably no way to know. |
| No |
| It’s usually in the contract, but I’m not aware of a single human being in this country ever being asked to prove it. |
No, they do not. Check the maintenance or carfax history before you purchase. |
| I use the carfax to help look for records and then call the dealership to see what work was done. Is this a CPO car? |
| Check the car fax it will list all maintenance done |
It is a good idea but just keep in mind that carfax lists maintenance only if the shop reports it and most don’t. There is not much maintenance required on a 2-3 year old car other than a couple of oil changes. Don’t stress over it. |
| Also, Lexus has free maintenance at 6 months and a year, so its likely that the first two oil changes were done. |
