| On average which degree matters more value if taken from a top school? |
| All of them. |
Usually one's most recent degree matters more, but it could vary depending upon the field of employment. |
Not in the case of one who earns a law degree and wants to practice law and not the case if one earns an MBA from an elite MBA program in order to switch fields. |
I have a joint mba/jd from a top school. You’re not telling me anything I don’t know. |
| Both. There was just a story about how attending a top law school doesn’t “cure” having a less prestigious college on your resume when seeking SCOTUS clerkships. That’s an extreme example, but still. |
| Grad school much more important |
Okay...so ??? |
| This is field dependent. |
| Undergrad. Recent study showed that people with law degrees from Harvard and Yale do much better if they also have an Ivy undergrad. |
| The higher degree always matters more. |
Mitt, is that you? |
Is it because Ivy undergrads plus ivy law are more likely to be from well connected families? |
I would think that has something to do with it, along with an extended halo effect. |
Jerk will always be a jerk no matter how many degrees |
