Does it matter if you buy home appliance from Lowes vs Home Depot vs Best Buy?

Anonymous
This will probably win most boring question of the day but I plan to buy a new washer/dryer this weekend with delivery and install and haul away. I’m not buying any protection plan. Lowes, Home Depot, and Best Buy are all the same price within a couple bucks for this model. Any reason to use one of these stores vs another? Looks like it doesn’t matter but we’re relatively new home owners and have never bought any major appliances ourselves, so curious if I am missing anything.

They all are literally using the same warehouses and delivery services

There used to be differences in return policies.

Costco gives you two year warranty and installation and haul-away included.

Go to Lowe’s

I've been very happy with Best Buy. And we have used their service plan. But no, it probably doesn't matter.

The best buy installation has worked out well for me but can’t say i know the others are worse

We've had really good experiences with Best Buy for three different appliances (electric dryer, oven, fridge). In our experience, Home Depot is not good -- I think they also limit installation? I've also heard good things about Costco.

Other than political donation of Home Depot’s co-founder, no real difference.

I appreciate the responses!

Cheapest price but Lowes is usually quicker with delivery.

I had issues with Home Depot installation of an washer. Their installation meant delivering to the house and removing the old washer, but leaving it for me to couple the washer to plumbing.

Off topic, but my worst experience was with Bray and Scarff, who gave me a returned, used appliance that was defective and would not accept for return after delivery, and the manufacturer did not cover repairs because it was used (appliance had been already registered by a first buyer and returned).

Might be worth seeing if a local appliance store will price match, they usually offer better service, particularly if you need repairs down the road,

I prefer Best Buy. Never had a problem. Easy install. Easy everything.
