Help me! What are some great silent auction basket ideas? I have to make one for my child’s high school. What will people buy. Anything you saw and loved! I have about $600 to spend so it can be as much as that or cheaper. Thank you all for any advice you can offer. I truly appreciate the ideas.

The key to getting silent auction baskets to make money is to get things donated. Having chaired many auctions, I could cry for the number of times a basket actually cost more to assemble than what it made in profit. It would have been better to keep the money! Very few people will pay much more than the value unless there are unique items.
So ideally, try to get a nice item donated and them build around that. This is a great chance from someone to regift a duplicate item they have at home. Recently someone donated a nice firepit that was a duplicate for them. We built a successful basket of accessories to go with it and that sold well. We also got some nice cookware and that kitchen basket sold easily. |
Can you get anything donated? I'm having trouble imagining you spending $600 on crap and getting people to spend note than $600 on it.
Omg I was making the same point at the same time, but you were much nicer

When is it? Get local restaurants to donate gift cards and then get wine and maybe come movie gift cards.
Date night gift basket. Gift cards to local restaurants, uber gift card, bottle of wine/champagne, include a spa gift card for pre date pampering, chocolates, things like that.
I've done baskets for my child's school the last couple of years. Heads up that the wine can't be displayed or given on school property, per FCPS. So if this is going to be displayed at the school, or picked up there after the auction, you'll need to make other arrangements.
$600 is high. I did a baseball themed basket one year that included tickets to a Saturday afternoon game.
Could you do several smaller baskets instead of one or two expensive ones? I did a gardening themed basket one year for thirty bucks and I think someone paid double for it. Seed packets, hand tools, paper seed pots, plant markers. My “basket” was a large plastic planter.
