Clarksburg #9

Anonymous
For a variety of reasons, I am looking for a new job next year and there are many openings for the new elementary school (of course)! I’m trying to find information and am struggling, but figured this group probably knows all!

1) Where exactly is the school (and especially how far off 270 is it)?
2) Do we know anything about the principal?
3) What is the population like? Is it expected to be Title 1, focus, neither?

Anything else?

Thank you for your help!

The school is right by the Clarksburg outlets

This report on the new boundaries includes enrollment projections with demographic estimates. There's also a map on page 6 with the location of the new school as well as the neighborhoods zoned for it.

The principal will be Stephanie Dinga, recently the principal of Goshen ES.

The school will not be focus. It will have autism, pep and Capp (posted jobs). As mentioned before , the schools principal will be Stephanie Dinga. When I apply for a job, I go to the principals last school and look for anyone I might know and ask their honest opinion on the principal. Or see if my friends know anyone there. Maybe you can find someone at Goshen willing to give you the scoop on her

I am a teacher at Goshen. Mrs. Dinga was amazing! She is very hands-on and will be found at recess, in the lunchroom, greeting kids at the bus and KAR loops, popping in and out of classrooms and planning meetings. She is fair, follows rules, stands up for what is right, and is very engaging and professional. We will miss her a lot at Goshen!

NP, not a teacher but a former Goshen parent. This is pretty much (probably) all true. My impression of her as a fairly involved parent: hands on, high expectations for everyone incl teachers, encourages parent involvement, believes in what she’s doing, willing to go the extra mile. There were times when I think she had to toe the oarty line on something the County handed down and she did it gracefully. I am sad that she’ll probably take a handful of the best teachers with her.

So good to know! We've been waiting for this school for a while now and knowing this about the new principal is so refreshing.

It's located in the Cabin Branch neighborhood behind the Clarksburg outlets. It takes 2 min to get to 270.

Most of the students will be coming from Clarksburg ES, so you can look at their population.

Ehhh another goshen parent here. I found her rude, unwelcoming and cold. She was rash in decision making and seemed to have a “onto the next” attitude.

What teacher spells “Kar” loops? You mean car loops? Goodness I hope you’re not really a teacher

NP and I don't know the principal but there is no pleasing everyone. You can be a patron saint and on DCUM, someone will find fault. Take all these with a grain of salt, PP. Interview and decide for yourself.

Isn’t Kiss and ride at the metro …. Now it’s school terminology?
