Where are the best places to get a cute, but not too expensive maternity bathing suit? Also are bikinis a no-no? |
LOVED the ones I had from Target -- I got two pieces but they were full coverage. the in store selections are iffy -- shop online-- you can usually find a deal with free shipping and then can return to the store. |
I got a great one online from Gap Maternity (this was 2 years ago), and there was an online sale so it was not too expensive (maybe $30-$35 or so).
Personally I did not feel comfortable showing my belly in a bikini, so the bathing suits I got were the halter 2-piece style that covered the belly. |
I got a really cute one from Target too...2 piece "tankini" |
Great, thanks.. I'll check out Target and the Gap.

I also saw cute cheap suites at old navy and motherhood maturity. I bought one at motherhood and liked it. |
I recommend the ones at Motherhood.
For my daughter who is now 3, I got one a Motherhood. I really wasn't too excieted about the print but it was the only one I could find at the time (November/December) and we were going to the Keys. It worked really well when I went snorkeling (not see through and stayed in place). Its now 3 years later and I am pregnant again. I am teaching a swim class so I had needed a maternity suit. I found the old one and have been teaching it in for several weeks. |
show the belly!!! |
Bikini!!! Loved showing off around 7 months. Got halter top a Target in a size up from regular (no surprise) and side tie bottoms. Not bragging, but genetics spared me from stretch marks. Never looked so good in a bikini (I'm small chested).
You GO girl! |
I got a Tankini from A Pea in the Pod (on sale) - very cute at 5/6 months. I tried to put it on again at 38 weeks and was FRIGHTENED!!! I wished at that point that I had also purchased a one piece for modesty. I just wanted to go to the pool and float to relieve sciatica. I will say that at that point, however, I did not give a flip what I looked like and decided to bare all - stretch marks and all! |
