What is your Easter menu? Any games or plans for extra fun?

I think we'll have a ham, salad, peas, fruit, and pineapple baked something.

We'll have an Easter egg hunt, but I'd like to liven it up for the teenagers (plus one elementary school aged child).

I'd love to hear your ideas.

Already? Lent hasn’t even started yet.

Exactly, let's talk Mardi Gras. We always get a dry King cake, with a baby.

Deviled eggs, slightly multicolored from dye seeping through the shells when we made Easter eggs.

Lamb roast or rack, asparagus (always a sign of spring here), mashed potatoes, and a bunny shaped cake for dessert (pooping out chocolate eggs to make my tween son laugh).

What is a "dry" king cake?

I can't even think ahead to March yet.

During the pandemic, I got us all a blow-up ring toss game with inflatable bunny ear headbands. No in-person church, so we spent the morning hurling rings at each other’s heads. Best time ever.

I've always had crazy easter egg hunts. In addition to all the regular eggs, we have a gold, silver and bronze egg and the rules are that you can't take more than one of them. But that's just because my kids are little and I know the older 2 would steal from the littlest (the littlest also gets a different colored eggs so that she has a chance). We play Mission Impossible music.

Growing up we had the same with all of our cousins. The gold egg would have $20.

I love these ideas! Especially the Mission Impossible music! And I'm gonna look for the inflatable bunny ear headband ring toss game now.

Thank you!

We play Pictionary. There are clue lists you can download online I have a friend print them and cut them up so I don't see them and can play too.

Now I want this game lol. We do the egg hunt and the deviled eggs that are accidentally colored from the dye too. Also ham and some type of cheesy potato dish with a green vegetable. Green beans or asparagus. The Pictionary game sounds fun too.

Get the one from Bayou Bakery in Arlington- best I’ve had in this area and I grew up in the NO area.
