Blair Accelerated Bio/chem for 9th graders

Does anyone have experience with this class? I have an incoming 9th grader who will be in CAP and is currently in the TPMS magnet. Having ruled out AP Physics, is this the appropriate option? Thanks!

I would consider taking the class. My child took AP Physics 1 last year in 9th grade and now in Honors Chemistry. He is bored and frustrated that Blair doesn’t have regular Chemistry, only Honors. His teacher spends a lot of time with students that can’t keep up. A TPMS kid would do great in an accelerated science class.

It’s a double period so that leaves one less period for electives which is tough if taking PE and foreign language (but maybe bc of CAP’s extra period doable).

This is new but it seems tough for CAP students because it would mean there is no slot for PE or anything beyond language, science, math, and the 4 CAP classes. Is this being recommended for CAP students? There are so few elective slots to begin with…
