| Many of the posts on this forum are about difficulties between parents and adult children. We all can relate, of course, but sometimes our adult kids do wonderful things. Yesterday my 28-year-old son, who lives on the other side of the country, sent me flowers. It meant a lot because my husband, his dad, died six months ago. I just came here to say this because it's important for all of us to remember that even when our kids are well past the age when we cuddle with them in our laps or rock them to sleep, they can make our hearts soar. |

| That’s beautiful. So thoughtful of him, esp with the loss of your husband and his Dad. Peace to you both and more good memories. |
| When our son surprised us and picked up the check at a very nice restaurant. |

| The bar for sons is so low |
So true. Why is that so? |
| That’s a wonderful story. I have a young adult son who still lives at home. He’s my oldest and due to disabilities he struggled in school. He became a mechanic. He calls me almost every day to see if I want him to pick up younger kids so I can go to the gym. He takes care of all regular car maintenance. He pitches in around the house without ever being asked. My heart is full. He is so thoughtful and helpful every day and having him as my son makes my life better. |
| I deal with a lot of millennials in my job/s and I'll have to say, my millennial kids don't communicate like them. They understand nuance, pick up the phone and call, are empathetic. |
Oh please don't ruin this chain OP your story warmed my heart. Glad you have this joy. |
