AMH and PCOS

Anonymous
I will ask my doctor next time I see her, but I was wondering whether high AMH and PCOS always go together? I googled it, and it says AMH over 4 could be PCOS. I am between 6 and 7 depending on the day. I am in my forties and have no excess hair, acne, and my periods are regular.

Even more puzzling, I'm with CCRM and lab report says my AMH is in range for a 30-something year old.

I have PCOS, and my AMH was always very high. That, elevated testosterone, and the “string of pearls” sign on ultrasound of my ovaries was the combo that led to diagnosis. My only symptom was irregular cycles (thin, no acne, no excess body hair, etc).

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is put out by antral follicles on the ovary when it's getting ready to release an egg.
