My Fitness Pal - what happened

I've used My Fitness Pal intermittently over the years. I'm just coming back to it, and while I realize there is a premium option and that you must use that version in order to access scanner now. However, it seems like I'm not able to do anything basic, like create a cereal with the amount. I search for the cereal but am obliged to select a pre-existing amount from someone's established entry, and it doesn't match the amount I'm using. Is that what it's doing now?
