Where can I go this week to find a good selection of high quality Greek wines (and help selecting a few for a gift).
Thanks for your help! |
| Arrowine in Arlington |
| Don't know a good place, but be sure to pick up some assyrtiko. |
| Ace Beverage on New Mexico Avenue has really helpful staff. I've bought Greek wine there before! |
+1. I bought a great Greek wine there last summer. We drank all of it otherwise I’d take a picture of the label for you. |
| I've found a huge selection and helpful staff at the Total Wine store in Laurel. |
| Calvert woodley |
| Litteri’s has a lot of interesting wine from Greece |
While yes, Total Wine has greek wines, they are without fail, the absolute worst, mass-produced of the greek wines. I have yet to find a local store that carries anything worthwhile. Your best bet is to talk to a greek diner or pizzeria owner. They may be able to get you cases of Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko, or Moschofilero. The latter is my personal favorite. |
| I would go to a place in me near st sophia’s cathedral. Huge Greek population in Dc. Skip total wine for sure. They always give me the worst recommendations. |
