| Already on bonjesta so I’m not vomiting but just queasy around the clock. Im a healthcare worker so I’m up and around others all day - it’s exhausting. I had HG in my first pregnancy so I’m very fortunate that it’s not going to that level. But ugh so bad. any tips for dealing with the nausea at work? I’m already on the bonjesta as I said, weekly acupuncture, ginger tea, acupressure bands etc. |
| A B12 vitamin helped me a lot with the nausea. |
| I bought pickled ginger, the pink stuff at sushi restaurants. Giant sold it in sushi area. You can find on Amazon too. was super helpful |

Have you tried all the usual tactics like wearing the seabands, eating crackers with juice before even sitting up in bed in the am, always having something in your stomach? Having had HG, I’m guessing the normal tricks aren’t effective for you.
Perhaps it’s better to switch to Zofran if you’re still nauseous. There’s also a patch that anesthesiologists put behind patients’ ears before putting them under. Maybe that would offer better relief. |
| More protein than you are used to. Two times HG mom here, and in addition to getting your meds squared away for me, making sure I was having a bowel movement daily and eating protein all day instead of empty carbs made a huge difference. But also, exhaustion is at it’s peak right now and for another week or so…and that will also make the nausea worse. Sorry you are going through this. |

This is OP. Thanks for the tips. Definitely not eating much protein so I’ll try that. And I do have zofran but have been holding off.
And I’m LOLing at the pickled ginger poster. She always shows up on the HG threads but I don’t think she knows what HG is. |
Same here. |
| I sucked on lifesavers all day. |
| I don't think scope patches are safe for pregnancy. I did zofran and the unisom+b6. I mean its just miserable, if you had HG you know. Solidarity, sorry you're in the thick of it. Day by day, get to week 16 (mine got milder around then, although never fully subsided really) |
| Zofran. There's no need to suffer. |
+1 |
Watch out for constipation with Z. For me (and my nausea was BAD, going in for IV hydration, losing 20 pounds bad), the poop side effects for Z were not a desirable alternative. I would only take Z on the worst of the worst days because the improvement I got was notable but not dramatic (IE, I was throwing up 5 times a day instead of 15), and adding humiliating agonizing poop issues to the mix really didn't help my morale as much as you'd expect. |
Yeah, the constipation is rough. It was worth it for me to be able to keep anything down, though. |
| Thanks all <3 |
PP here, definitely not totally anti Z, just would also make sure you're taking Fiber/colace with it proactively! |
