Mild conductive hearing loss

My 4yo has Mild conductive hearing loss with tympanogram, which is consistent with middle ear disorder. It will be a few more weeks before seeing our ENT. Anyone experience this and was able to restore without surgery or tubes?

I have this but I am 40. I don't see how you can resolve without surgery or tubes, as it's a mechanical issue.

If this is new as a result of a cold or congestion, then it may be treated with sudafed and/or allergy medication. Or tubes may be the next step.

FWIW, it's only February but we're already having lots of tree pollen.

My DD’s hearing was normal after tubes. We tried steroid nasal spray first with zero improvement.

My DD had really thick fluid in her ears. She was hearing us as if she was underwater. For one year, they tried allergy meds and nasal sprays and nothing worked. Finally at age 2 1/2 she got tubes and within six months, all of the fluid had drained out. We also did speech therapy because her speech was completely garbled. Having tubes put in is not a big deal procedure. It’s also something that has an immediate effect on hearing as fluid starts draining immediately. Frankly, I understood why the ENT tried allergy meds and such first, but ultimately the tubes are what did the trick.
