| Did the Beauvoir waitlist for Prek or K move this year? |
| A few people got accepted off the waitlist. |
| Darn. I guess it's pretty much over then until tuition comes due--and at Beauvoir I think that's not until July. |
How do you know children were taken off the waitlist this year? Contracts were due on Friday!!!!! I have not sure they were able to make decisions that quickly. PEOPLE PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOLS AND STOP LISTENING TO ANONYMOUS POSTERS. |
| Yes, definitely, call the schools. That said, I definitely know five parents who submitted their responses to Beauvoir in late March (like 3/27, 3/28 timeframe). Two of those responses were no (both went to GDS because it's K-12 mostly), so it doesn't seem at all unreasonable that they wouldn't have offered those slots last week to people high on the waiting list. |
Just curious please describe the families . . . nationality (white, black, hispanic, etc) girls or boys summer, spring, fall, or winter birthday were the families receiving aid childrens personality Just trying to determine what type of child might fill the slot. Also do you all really think parents would pay the 700.00 Beauvoir deposit then not attend the school because of fear of affording the tuition. It seems that families would think that through before paying the deposit. |
| If the spaces have already been reassigned, this information seems irrelevant. |
We do not know if the spaces have been assigned????????????????? |
| Well, then, asking for this information just seems kind of...icky. I'm sorry; I don't mean to say that YOU are icky. I'm sure I'm just as worked up about this process as you are. |
It's ok No offense taken. My DC was admitted to Beauvoir so I am not worked up. I just thought I would ask maybe to give others parents hope if their DC fit the description provided. Just trying to be helpful.

| Oh, good! |
| We were told this week that there has been no movement on the K wait list and that movement is unlikely at this point. |
| Remember the schools overaccept so they count on some declinations before they ever get to the wait list. |
Do schools really overaccept? I would think that if they did, it would be by a very, very small amount. Otherwise, if they happen to be wrong in their projections and more people accept than they thought, they'd be in trouble. Maybe Beauvoir can afford to do that because of its large size, but I would think that schools like Maret wouldn't because it's so small. I also doubt Sidwell would do this, too, just because I would think that most everyone who gets a Sidwell offer accepts it. |
Poster of Quote above - Are you referring to Beauvoir's K waitlist? |
