Mystery, thriller, suspense

Read or listened to any good ones lately?

Here's my recent list, off the top of my head:

Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun - It's ok, but I'm tired of this series. The author is trying too hard to be cute and there's too much romance and which guy should she date. Although the series has this whole story line about hiring hitmen through fake messages on a website for moms and it takes place in NoVA, so that always makes me wonder if the author is hanging out on DCUM. I think it's a good series for people who like that Stephanie Plum series about the bondswoman (is that the right word?)>

I'm Thinking of Ending Things - Takes place from a woman's point of view during a road trip to meet her boyfriend's parents for the first time. This was really unique. I started off liking it, then in the middle was thinking something needs to happen, where is this going, then I started to suspect the twist at the ending (I was pretty close, but not completely right). In the end I liked it a lot.

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone - I loved it. Very creative.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time - Same as above, it was creative and I loved it.

Blanche on the Lam - Story about a Black maid in the south. I liked it a lot. On the one hand, it was pretty lighthearted, but on the other hand, there was a lot of social commentary sprinkled in, which I enjoyed but not everyone would.

You're Invited - Meh. It was ok, but kind of predictable.

Reckless Girls - I liked it while reading, but did not like the ending at all.

Just the Nicest Couple - Slightly above meh. Kind of forgettable.

Three Things about Elsie - I liked this one a lot, told from the point of view of an elderly woman with dementia in a care home.

I'm sure there's more, I"ll come back and update if I think of any others.

What about you all?
