| Has anyone here moved from southern Florida to the northern Virginia area? We are looking in Jupiter which seems to have the better schools of the county, but I've heard they don't compare to our schools here. We have been looking for a beachy area to move to for three years but haven't found our place yet |
| Given what DeSantis is trying to do to public education in the state, relying on any public schools is a huge risk. |
| Are you looking for private or public? In SFL if you’re going the private school route people gravitate towards pine crest academy and American heritage. |
| Miami has some excellent private schools and excellent public magnets |
| I would never raise kids in FL. No way. |
In comparison with posts on this site about DC and Arlington area schools, Florida's don't seem worse. |
Your vague negativity adds nothing of value to this thread. There are millions of parents raising millions of kids successfully in Florida. |
That's nice. My young adult kid just got state licensure in their field and a job promotion. I guess they turned out ok?
|
We moved the reverse way (not to Jupiter) and found the opposite. Better academics, better social dynamics, better sports. (2 kids in public, 1 in private) |
Luckily no one is forcing you. |
+1 And no one cares! |
| Marjory Stonemann Douglass High School in Parkland, FL is very high performing and similar to schools in the DMV. Lots of kids going to ivys out of there. |
+ a million. It's a mystery why the hater above even visits this thread. Extreme loneliness I guess. |
Don't know much about Jupiter schools but have several friends who moved from DC and San Francisco to Boca Raton and were very impressed by the schools there, both public and private. Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Delray Beach too, but mostly private. |
How old is your kid? Why are you jerking them around geographically? |
