math tutor familiar with MCPS curriculum

Anonymous
Am looking for suggestions of private tutors who are familiar with the MCPS math curriculum. Specifically, this is for Algebra for a middle schooler. I have put in an application for the free MCPS tutoring program too, but it seems that it might take a while to find a tutor, so I thought I should look for a private option instead. I'd appreciate any recommendations.

By MCPS tutoring, do you mean the virtual tutoring through FEV and Tutor Me, or tutoring offered at your child’s school? I ask because I thought the virtual option was the only one, but I found out through my child’s math teacher that our school offers after-school tutoring with a teacher from the school. If you haven’t explored that route, you may want to reach out to the teacher to ask if that’s an option.

We use Tutor Me. It's hit or miss on the tutor but you can always ask for a new one. It usually takes us 2-3 weeks. Keep emailing them.

Ask your kids math teacher for the MCPS excel spreadsheet it literally lists every single MCPS math teacher, their school / email / phone and whether they do in person or online tutoring and which classes.

These tutors are active teachers in MCPS so they work with the curriculum daily. Anyone else is going to be wasting your time.

We worked with 4 teachers in MS and HS from this list.

Another vote for using an MCPS teacher as your math tutor. It's been 100% online because the tutoring started during those first few pandemic months in spring 2020.

Have any contact info to pass on? "Anonymous person @ DCUM" is a hard sell.
