Question re August soccer practices

For those experienced families ... assuming a child makes the team -- do practices start immediately after try-outs? And do they run M-F? We are trying to figure out if we can take a long weekend as a family in August, but don't want our kid in trouble with the coach if they make the team. I'm assuming they are afternoon, so we could at least do late Friday night through Monday noontime? Thank you!!

I only know about one school and team (Blair girls). Yes, practices start immediately after tryouts and take place Mon-SAT (not Friday) until school starts. Practices can be either early morning or late afternoon, and on some days there are early evening preseason scrimmages instead of practices. And the schedule isn’t released until a week or so in advance. So in theory, your kid could miss three practices (and/or scrimmages) if they were gone Fri evening through midday on Monday, at least for this team. It’s a bummer for family events, but we consider summer vacation to be basically over for my soccer kid once tryouts begin.

OP your life with vacations over.

Do not plan something for them if you think there is a good chance they will make the team. Not a good way to start.

The try outs are really run as practices. It’s not all that different, just less kids over time. The teams gear up really quickly.
