Waffle iron

Is there a nontoxic waffle iron?
I make waffles every morning with an old waffle iron my mom gave me 20 years ago.
However, I realized it must be Teflon when the 2 plants I have on the counter where I make the waffles died!
The more I read about waffle irons - the newer non ceramic coating is full of possible toxins too?!
If you know of a great, non-toxic waffle iron, please recommend.

I’ve been search for the same thing for several years too—I don’t think it exists! I even tried a Lodge cast iron one that you cook in the oven but the batter stuck so badly that it was unusable. I’d love to know if someone else has a better idea!

Plants don’t die from Teflon fumes, else my entire windowsill of herbs would have croaked long ago.

Wait- every morning?? Just waffles or do you make other things in there?

You can buy the cast iron camping kind. I looked into this and decided it wasn’t worth it for my level of waffle consumption - I take out the waffle iron every other weekend. I make a big batch and then toast them throughout the week.

PP, which waffle iron do you use?
The camping kind - cast iron- are a pain to use.
Is there one that is easy to use but non toxic and non stick?
