Einstein Academy of Finance, Careers & Technology

I'd love to hear experiences with the Einstein Academy of Finance, Careers & Technology program. My now-8th grader is interested and I know nothing about the program.

These academies are just marketing for parents and a way to make a big school smaller for the kids. Look at what classes are offered at Einstein vs what they would take at your home DCC school.

OP here. DC is already planning to go to Einstein in the Fall and we're wondering if the academy is right for him. It's our home school.

You could always informally interview the faculty member who is in charge of the Academy at the DCC Open House. If it's who I think it is, I'm not impressed. I say this as someone who adored 90% of my graduate's teachers at Einstein.

The teachers might be better than the Director, though.

Einstein parent here. It's kind of a catch-all academy that includes several disconnected things now. It was originally just the Academy of Finance, but now there are also pathways included for computer science, hospitality, and the teacher academy too. I would look at the particular course sequence in the pathway you're interested in. My kid is in the computer science pathway, and as best I can tell it's completely separate from the other paths. All of the DCC academies are more like collections of themed elective tracks, with an internship senior year in some cases.

They’ll do course fairs for the kids to showcase and explain the Academies before kids have to choose one.
