Would Rishi Sunak be a Democrat in the US?

I glanced at his Twitter and it’s all posts about “social care,” climate change, walkability, bike lanes, “fire and rehire,” etc.

He also thinks biological male/trans women should not compete against biological women in sports. So he isnt the same as a US democrat.

Really? All democrats don't care about whether women's sports include both trans women and cis women?

Yes - pretty much any mainstream conservative in a non-US western country would be a Democrat in the US.

The US is more conservative than most western countries...particularly when it comes to unions, health care, taxes, and gun control.

What is this person’s opinion on guns? You can’t be a Republican if you don’t live guns more than humans.

+1 My spouse is a Brit who has lived here for over 20 years. They have said that Dems here are more like the Conservatives in the UK. Of course, there are those who are much more conservative in the UK, more like our Rs, but by and large, the Conservatives in the UK are more like moderate Dems here.

This is true.

No UK politician would dare publicly state that they should have more access to guns. They would be a pariah. Totally opposite here.

In countries like the UK and Australia, although their political systems are also dominated by two major parties and the conservative party in each has generally swung further to the right, the extremists on the far right split off and form their own parties (eg UKIP, One Nation). It generally excises the most far right nastiness from the mainstream party.
