What worked for you? My daughter had an IEP this year for 1st grade and I feel the school did a horrible job! MCPS….
His SLD is for academics - math, reading and writing. 
Considering SN Private maybe. IDK, so many mixed reviews as it relates to staying public and going private. I feel like a failure! |

I struggled with this decision. At first I was concerned with my kid being labeled by going to a SN school. When did a visit for 1st and I see other kids, there were a lot of behavioral problem applicants. I also applied to two mainstream privates and explained I planned to provide my own intervention. My public elementary school was horrible.
We ended up finding a private that accepted us. Fast forward we are now in 4th grade and my kids is doing well. I’m glad I didn’t got the SNZ school right but that worked for us. |

| Get an advocate and a lawyer. MCPS is well known for having awful SLD options which positions parents for private placement. Ask me how I know. |
