NP = and no one may care but OP is probably still trying to get some sense of what people have on, day to day. Is it sundresses? Shorts and a t-shirt? Like what do you wear on a random Tuesday when you're there? What do you wear to go out to the nicest restaurant on the island? What do you wear to walk around town? |

What do you typically wear to go to the beach, to lunch, or window shopping in the summer? Wear that. What kind of an answer are you looking for, OP? if there was an obvious dress code there would be an obvious answer, but there truly is no uniform. |

| OP, you should wear the crispest white pants you can find, sweaters tied around your shoulders, Nantucket reds, and go buckwild at Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer before you dare step foot on the island. Make sure to bring your car (you can drive right onto the ferry, no reservations needed) and you can drive onto the beaches. No need to let the air out of your tires. You will fit right in with the locals and they will love having one of their own back on island! |

Come on, though. I live near a beach and I can tell you about different vibes in different areas. In one, people tend to get a little more done up, especially if they are going out to eat. In another, it's a point of pride to never wear anything newer than five years old. Where I am, there's a bit more of a hipster vibe. You can surely help OP out a little bit. She's coming to a very wealthy vacation island and just wants to look like she fits in. Can you just give her a little bit more of a hint of what you and your friends are usually wearing? |
