Columbia Baptist in Falls Church - Current Parent Reviews?

Anonymous
We've just been offered a place for my two year-old at Columbia Baptist Child Development Center in Falls Church starting in September. He would be in the "Tots" group. We are currently overseas and haven't had a chance to tour. Can any current parents share an update on the director, teachers, construction, and overall experience? Would you recommend it? Some of the 2022 forum entries are giving me pause.

I am not currently a parent there but did take a tour in December. Things I noticed:
bright, spacious classrooms
attentive teachers
interesting enrichments: beautiful art space and social and emotional focused class (mindfulness)
unique and fun playground/outdoor nature spaces
They also have an inclusion specialist which can be helpful to everyone involved when a child is struggling.

I've seen those two op. I am not a current parent, though I did attend there as a child which is kind of funny. I don't remember much and it was 30 years ago so not helpful, though I think I turned out well But I'm posting because I do have multiple friends with kids there and they are all happy. I haven't heard anyone say anything negative like I've read on that one thread.

I asked two friends recently who currently have kids there (we were deciding about my younger son who is going elsewhere but not because columbia wasn't a great choice) - one said they absolutely love it and are obsessed with their daughters teacher. Another said they are really happy there and the only thing that isn't their favorite is the religious piece but that's a personal preference and they said it's not a lot. Just thought I'd share! I've heard through the grapevine of other friends of friends who liked it as well. It's generally well regarded.

Oh and I'm sorry I just read your whole post and saw you weren't able to do a tour! I also toured recently and agree with the pps assessment. The art is great, the outdoor spaces are really quite nice, the classrooms feel calm and have good materials. The only thing is that it is pretty large, 200 or so students so it is just a lot of students but it seemed like a good place.

I'm sorry but this is so obviously someone who works at the school.
