I haven’t thought about Mitch Snyder in a long time

He’s been dead for 33 years now. Anyone from here will know who he was . There don’t seem to be people like him anymore , organizations sure but not individuals

Absolutely I remember Mitch!

Definitely I do. Lots of coverage of homeless advocacy on the local news, not sure that’s the case now.

Signal Through the Flames. I heard him speak in person in the late 80s.

Someone should send a link to the family

Was thinking of him the other day after passing the mural on the shelter.

Honestly, that place is a mess.

I remember him from the 80’s, and the protests he organized. For all the noise he made, he never really accomplished much, and then killed himself. I wonder if he finally realized it was an impossible task because you can’t help people who the vast majority of don’t want help because they mentally ill or addicts.

I represented him once. Pro bono.

I also didn't like how his former girlfriend was "blamed" for his suicide. Like wtf?

There always has to be a boogieman/woman. Always.

I remember him too. I don't agree he didn't accomplish much. It is a problem that isn't going away .

Tracy Kidder just wrote a book about a guy in Boston who's been trying to help the unhoused in Boston for long time. It's called Rough Sleepers.

I think his conclusion is it will be neverending work but it's worth doing.
