Shutdown Rhetoric

Anonymous
The left will be crushed if this shutdown goes on for a prolonged period and most of America decides it doesn't really matter. So a bunch of non essential federal workers miss a few paychecks? Who cares?

The lefts use of manufactured hysteria to bully the electorate into unwise policy decisions is pretty much over with. Even the main stream media isn't really buying this as anything other than a desperate move by
a very weak and rudderless democrat party.

Schumer is standing for what his US citizen constituents want — 1) DACA compromise, 2) not to pay for a useless wall.

Wasn’t Mexico supposed to pay for the wall?

Working class Americans don’t want 80 dollar/day illegal labor. You do for your mansion. Go visit the fire halls in small town USA. You are an elitist like Schumer.

DP... The hundreds of thousands of American businesses that keep employing them obviously still want them. Need to acknowledge that and sort that out somehow.

Sorry, I don’t care about business that take advantage of this black market. MAGA

You are talking about farmers and small businesses all throughout the heartland. Seems you are the elitist who hates the heartland now.

Well, I am married to a hispanic, so I don't feel badly about the "brown person" stuff. And I grew up on and still own a farm so that elitist stuff doesn't tag me.

And I think Trump is a big hypocrite, so that doesn't rattle me either. I just want the border secured and illegal immigration stopped. Legal immigration -- especially merit based -- is great! Then, for me, MAGA is complete.

Russian troll farms don’t count.

No troll farm here buddy. I voted for Obama once. Most recently trump to solve immigration since neither party will.

I know I am so excited about the wall. I want to volunteer to go help build it. Have you heard anything about that? I mean I’m assuming they’ll need some volunteers to reduce costs since Dems are being stingy.

Definitely! I don’t really get why they want to shut down the govt for a bunch of illegals. Fools! Lol

ie Trump’s businesses?

Have you pushed your reps to enforce a crackdown on businesses who utilize illegal labor?

PS I am PP and used to live in a shitshack in Arlington and never hired day laborers to work on my house. Only licensed bonded contractors.

You want a medal, snowflake? (As if your contractors didn’t use undocumented workers.)

No, no medal needed. Just refuting PPs silly claim that I am elitist puppet sitting pretty in my mansion.

I’m a liberal and want help for the dreamers but don’t think this shut down is worth it. You shouldn’t shut down the government to support people that are not voting constituents. At best it will do nothing because they can’t vote and it has the potential to cost you the next election.

No, I think CHIP is important. Also, I believe that the Democrats should get SOMETHING for their votes and CHIP would be fine with me.

The budget fully funds CHIP for 6 years. Am I wrong about that?

Probably the families of the 5 out 6 federal employees who works outside of WDC. And the local businesses they patronize that will be hurt when they scrimp on spending.

President "Deal-Maker" had a deal on Friday with Schumer, who gave in for something Democrats don't want (the US paying for a border wall) for something Republicans DO want (to fund CHIP). But then Cadet Bone Spurs changed his mind like he always does after talking to the last person in the room.

Trump said he would sign whatever bill Congress sent him. Well, there is a bill that would pass that he could sign, and that is the Graham-Durbin bill. Why won't McConnell send it through? WHY?

The vote isn't over the budget. McConnell is 5 months behind on a budget.

I meant the CR. The CR that they voted on funds CHIP for 6 years.
