Selling my car privately

I recently listed my 2021 Jeep Wrangler and getting some decent interest. Showing it is not a problem, as I offer to meet buyers at the public places like big shopping centers. But I am very cautious about the actual transaction step. When I find the buyer, how do I make sure their check is legit? Can we have a transaction done at the bank, so that they deposit cashier's check immediately and tell me that funds are available, before I release the title? Has anyone done this before?

I did that. I called the check issuing bank and verified that the cashier check presented by the buyer was legitimate. Took about 10 minutes.
