Has anyone heard about financial aid from Pitt?

DD got her acceptance in November (yay!) but still no word about any possible funds. Are we the only ones? Have others heard anything?

I would be shocked if they’re giving need-based aid to OOS.

…hoping for merit.

Have not heard about merit

I have not heard about merit. High stats kid, application complete in mid November and acceptance first week of January. No word on merit.

Those applied early got merits 2 weeks after acceptance

NO, haven't heard anything but accepted at PITT.

We received a merit award letter 4 weeks after acceptance. As far as I can see from their site, need-based award notifications go out sometime in February.

Should add that DC was accepted in November and received merit letter in December.

Sigh, sounds like merit won’t be coming. I read online that test scores don’t weigh in favor of merit.

My son got a merit letter with his acceptance letter.

DC’s application went to review in mid November, received an acceptance in early January and received merit aid notification yesterday. Arts and sciences, 5K/year (20K total). Strong (but not Amazing) stats, submitted test scores. It sounds like they are starting up with giving out the merit again.

DS, CS major, admitted in October. Nothing. Monitoring 3 different threads, I've only seen two females receive anything from School of Computing. Guess they have an over abundance of CS applicants. Too bad. If we want to full pay OOS, we'll go with UMD CS and Honors College acceptance.

DS applied in November, accepted early January, just got merit aid email yesterday. 15K a year, arts and sciences, 1580 SAT, 4.0 unweighted GPA. It's not high on his list, but the money make it more tempting. He'll find out about the honors college March 1.
