Caldecott Medal

Anyone else excited to find out the Caldecott Medal winner and honor books on Monday? I suspect it will be Blue, which is lovely, but loved Knight Owl. Anyone other predictions?

I really don't know for Caldecott! I don't keep up as well with picture books now that my kids are older.

I am looking forward to hearing about the Newbery, though. My vote is for "A Rover's Story" by Jasmine Warga.

I expect it will be Blue as well, although the only winners I've ever predicted have been the honors.

I'm looking forward to the Geisel. Always some funny, cute picks in that group.

I've done better with my Newbery and Taylor awards predictions. Anyway, it's always fun and it should be better now that it's back in person!

Knight Owl won an honor!

Caldecott was Hot Dog which was not on my radar.

I'm the OP. Of the 5 (medal + honorees), I'd only read Knight Owl and Hot Dog. Hot Dog is really well done and fun to read.

Knight Owl is adorable and the kids at my school *loved* it. We spent so much time pointing out all of the details we noticed.

I'm very surprised Blue wasn't included anywhere, given the hype. I would love to have been a fly on the wall during the discussions.
