I’ll admit I’ve never been great at math, but I’m looking at this nutrition label and it has me like
![]() Can anyone decipher this label and tell me how many calories a whole bag of this popcorn would be, popped and consumed? ![]() |
OP again. I think I have it. Is it 35x9 or 315 a bag, popped? |
I'm terrible at math but his is my answer:
154 calories per serving - which is 4.5 cups of popped popcorn. So the entire bag is about 308 calories. |
35 times 11. 385 calories. |
2.5 servings. Serving is 160 calories. 2.5 x 160 = 400
Or 35 calories per cup, 11 cups = 385 calories. (Difference is from rounding) |
35x11 = 385. This label is dumb. Why are they even listing I popped? |
bag ~11 cups popped * 35 calories/cup popped = 385 calories eating the entire bag once popped
I have no idea what happens to the higher calories per tablespoon unpopped figure once you pop it. disclaimer: I haven't had coffee yet |
*unpopped |
but 4.5 x 35 is 157.5. 157.5 times 2.5 total servings is 394. It's in the upper 300s. |
Right and remember my disclaimer that I'm terrible at math ![]() |
indeed. 385 as noted. |
Why in the world do they even put the calories of the popcorn kernels unpopped- on a mag of microwave popcorn. The bags aren't meant to be opened until it is popped. I suppose you could..but who in the world would open the bag and scoop out the goop covered kernels? Never understood this. |
It's like how pasta only has dry calories on it. They may be required to do calories as packaged. |
0 calories because after all of that math my body would have burned through any and all calories I would’ve consumed in that bag pop or unpopped. |
This is the correct answer. |
