Bars with no alcohol - would you go?

Anonymous
Wonder if it's the new trend.
Saw one in the news where they had some interesting drinks- with less sugar and calories even!

What do you think? Would you go?

I would go.

I had an idea (apparently this has been done) of having a water bar: just different waters imported from around the world.

People like to gather. Why not?

I would if someone invited me there and I’d be happy to try a mocktail or two for fun. But no, I’m content to have a soda or juice at the regular bar if I choose not to drink. I wouldn’t go out of my way to spend a lot on non alcoholic drinks.

Do they have food? I would go for dinner if it was good. I wouldn’t go there as a destination just for nonalcoholic drinks.

I would go with one group of friends but another group would not want to go.

Probably not, or at least not more than once or at the request of a friend who struggled to be around alcohol. I don't love drinking my calories and alcohol is kind of the exception to that. I've never done mocktails even if not drinking.

No

I would. Well made food and drinks are amazing, alcohol free or not.

No, but I also find the idea of $15 fruit juice, sorry mocktails, ridiculous

You mean a coffee house?

I think that's called a family restaurant without a liquor license - I swear, people think they are inventing something truly new. It's just a new way to make money out of nothing.

I'd try it once. I don't have a problem with alcohol, though. I do have a problem with sweet drinks, but I'm sure there are more savory mocktail options?

I have a friend who doesn't drink, and I'm curious what she thinks about this. My guess is that she won't see the point.

I'm also wondering if being in a bar without alcohol feels depressing ('cause alcohol kind of blurs the awkwardness).

I mean, OP says it's a bar. Not a restaurant.
I probably would once. I have a friend who's been sober for more than a year and would be fun to try with a group that includes her. Everyone is doing dry January, so could be especially fun now. But I agree about drinking calories. I've never bothered with mocktails for that reason.
