Gaza War, Part 3

Theyre doing the only thing they can do: spending money. Saudis pledged 40 million to UNRWA today so I’m guessing Israel won’t be happy about this. Not sure why because UNRWA gives Gazans a day after with some sort of stability: schooling, food, water, medicine, jobs . Israel should be happy for them. WithIt that, their security would be worse imo

Saudis are still standing by their intel that Sinwar is in Egypt and he left months ago through a tunnel . I wouldn’t be surprised if this is true.

Gaza is very small. If Israel can’t find him by now, he’s either not there or dead /playing dead

“Israel has taken thousands of Palestinians captive since Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7.

In the process, Israeli authorities have become increasingly violent, often storming homes inside the occupied West Bank and beating everyone inside, according to a staff member of the Palestinian monitor Addameer.

Once in custody, Palestinians face even more abuse.

“Lots of people had their [sternum] or heads broken, often gushing with blood,” 54-year-old Matar told Al Jazeera three months after he was released from detention.

“We weren’t even treated like animals. At least animals are treated with some sort of dignity.””

1) how is this any different than kidnapping that Hamas did on 10/7 except at 70x the scale?

2) how is this sustainable for Israel long term?

3) how can those taken (and their family left behind) not hat Israel?

4) why does my government keep supporting Israel?

I just do not get it.

The US has dropped 38,000 MRE in to a population of 2.3 million starving people.

I suspect this number is wrong. That would be a 35x35x35 box, smaller than a single pallet.

What the f are you talking about? One MRE weight on average 18-22oz. One case has 12 meals. Each shipping pallet contains 48 cases. The net weight per case is approximately 22 lbs. and 1.02 cubic feet, while each pallet weights 1,098 lbs. and is approximately 56.1 cubic feet

About 38,000 meals airdropped into Gaza by U.S. military in humanitarian aid operation
WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. military C-130 cargo planes dropped food in pallets over Gaza on Saturday in the opening stage of an emergency humanitarian assistance authorized by President Joe Biden after more than 100 Palestinians who had surged to pull goods off an aid convoy were killed during a chaotic encounter with Israeli troops.

Three planes from Air Forces Central dropped 66 bundles containing about 38,000 meals into Gaza at 8:30 a.m. EST (3:30 p.m. local). The bundles were dropped in southwest Gaza, on the beach along the territory’s Mediterranean coast, one U.S. official said. The airdrop was coordinated with the Royal Jordanian Air Force, which has been airdropping food and took part in Saturday’s mission.

1 meal per person for 38k people, one meal for 1 day
There are 2 million people, so I suppose 6 people need to share 1 mre?
So that is far too little

Millions of pounds of food have entered by land as well. Looting by gangs and Hamas complicate distribution.

No the IdF has stop any aid from getting into Gaza. The aid is sitting outside the border not allowed to move because of Israel. The armed gang is the IdF.

Unless you believe the IdF is so incompetent as to have no control over Gaza after 160 plus days of combat?? Hamas is just operating openly? Maybe Hamas is stealing IdF weapons and selling them to Al-Qaeda and Iran?? Oh no who should we believe?? Is there yellow cake?

Over the past four weeks, an average of about 140 trucks carrying food and other aid have arrived in Gaza each day, according to a database maintained by UNRWA, the U.N. agency that supports Palestinians

The World Food Programme estimates that at least 300 trucks are needed to enter Gaza every day and distribute food to meet only the basic hunger needs. The UN agency has only managed to take nine convoys into northern Gaza since the start of the year, it said in a statement.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/19/middleeast/famine-northern-gaza-starvation-ipc-report-intl-hnk/index.html#:~:text=The%20World%20Food%20Programme%20estimates,it%20said%20in%20a%20statement.

And this is from CNN which is extremely pro Israel. The 300 trucks a day number “basic hunger needs”, 140 is starvation. You people are sick.

2 million people
300 trucks; 1 truck would contain enough food and water for 6,666 people
140 trucks: 1 truck enough food and water for 14,285 people

I suppose that the hospital will need supplies too
Am I right?

Saudis (along with everyone but the US) have said for months no aid to rebuild Gaza without a real Palestinian state. All the Arb states have said no more money for rebuilding Gaza only to have it destroyed every 5 years. The Europeans have said the same plus their main concern is the Ukrainians.
Israeli plans is for US, European and Arb states to pay for the rebuild of Gaza. Only the US is on board for that. So get ready to write that check without help from any other country.

Ugh! Abductee after abductee has the same story of being beaten by the IDF. Israel has no credibility in condemning Hamas. Like Hamas, it kidnaps people. Unlike Hamas, it tortures them. Israel is far more brutal.

Sadly, yes. Israel has also destroyed orchards, fields, greenhouses, and livestock so that Palestinians can't produce their own food. I don't what to call this other than evil. Israel is deliberately starving everyone inside the Gaza Strip. How can this not be deliberate?

This is a good article about Jared Kushner's recent callous and avaricious comments about getting rid of the inhabitants of Gaza, bulldozing what's left of their homes and schools, and building waterfront properties:
https://www.juancole.com/2024/03/kushners-shameful-remarks.html

This is the story of the Palestinians. They are ethnically cleansed, their homes destroyed, and their land stolen. I don't think the world will let that happen this time in Gaza.

I'm sure that the festival situation was reversed - it was IDF soldiers killing Palestinians

Prior to 10/7 they used to get 500 trucks a day. The situation is now much worse so 140 trucks a day isn't doing a bloody thing.

And all the evidence point to IDF and Zionist terroriats blocking aid from entering. Stop being a genocide supporter.

Israel wants to end funding support and world wide legitimacy for UNRWA because, since 1948, UNWRA provides a lifeline of health care, education, housing and food support for the Palestinian people and it is Israel's long term goal to exterminate the Palestinian people.

This is why Israel and supporters of Israel in the USA have always refused to support UNICEF for the same reason.

Let that sink in.

Israel doesn't want a peaceful neighbor in the Palestinians. Israel wants NO neighbor.

The UNRWA thing is about the long term status of Palestinians since none of them would count as refugees under the UNHCR system because Palestine is not a country.

For the few of you pro-“Palestinian” Liberals who are not flagrant and open Hamas supporters, you should see this:

https://www.newsweek.com/hamas-issues-2024-election-warning-joe-biden-1882459#:~:text=U.S.%20President%20Joe%20Biden's,Palestinian%20Hamas%20movement%20told%20Newsweek.

For the few of you who are not openly anti-Semitic, Hamas supporters, you are being used to bring Hamas’ Jewish genocide agenda to the United States, they are no longer even hiding it - Petitioning the American President openly to blatantly support their Genocide.

You can still turn around, and do the right thing. You can admit your underlying anti-Semitism, and decide to embrace Israel, and support their mission without reservation in their desperate attempt to survive as a nation. But that time is fading fast, and it takes strong, clear actions to turn this Country around and to support Israel.

What about everyone else who are not “liberal”? Why should we support Israel?

LOL you are quoting Newsweek...

This is Washington. Everyone knows that " Newsweek" isn't Newsweek that we grew up with anymore and that is was bought in 2019 by a man with links to a Christian sect and has major $$$ backing now from both Israel and R wing in India:

https://www.axios.com/2022/07/26/newsweek-execs-speak-out-amid-legal-drama

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/mar/28/newsweek-new-owners-background

In other words, as evidenced by the PP, Newsweek is a de facto propaganda arm for Israel, imho
