Bowls for soup! What do you use?

Anonymous
My family loves to eat ramen, udon, pho and lots of other soups. I found out that the bowls we use probably contain lead. Great.

Do you have big bowls you use to eat soup? Recommendations? I'm sort of tempted just to get glass mixing bowls since those are generally lead free.

What do you use that has lead?
We use carrell bowls.

They are vintage bowls and all appear in their exact patterns on this website:

These aren’t the exact ones I have, but they’re similar. I like the double handles and the fact that they can go in the oven, since it makes it possible to broil cheese or croutons over the top. I think mine are a bit deeper.

The Q&A answer from WS literally says they are NOT oven or broiler safe. You may want to stop putting them in the oven. I don't like these because you have to buy a set of six, though I do like the handles.

These look good for a tomato or french onion soup but too small for ramen, etc.

I bought these. Whole family loves them - they are large but perfect for ramen and pho.

I’m the PP. Sorry, these aren’t exactly the ones I have, but they look similar! Mine are labeled oven and broiler safe - I bought them from WS a few years ago and that model must have been discontinued.

We have something like this that we use for grain bowl meals. Got them at the WS outlet.

I bought Pho bowls at the Asian shop. My kids love it.

OP isn’t looking for bowl recommendations. She is looking for lead free bowls.

We have these, which we use for salads/grain bowls. No lead.
