Title says it all. What’s the best life insurance company for a medicinal
user with extreme anxiety? The offer from USAA was too pricey at $500+ per month for a 15 year, $1M policy. I’d like to shop around but am not sure how to do that efficiently. |
Try prudential, but with extreme anxiety and drug use you are probably at much higher risk of suicide and will be expensive to insure.
That's surprisingly expensive -- my 20-year term policy for $750,000 was $400 a month, and I've had type 1 diabetes for 30+ years, which (apparently) makes me about as good a risk for a life insurance company as if I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. I'd shop around. Principal doesn't seem to care about occasional marijuana use, FWIW.
Use policy genius.
Consider discontinuing marijuana use and trying a more mainstream treatment, whether pharmaceutical and/or non-drug therapeutic approaches. You may find yourself more affordably insurable with a different approach to treating your condition. This may be a good time to re-evaluate with your psychiatrist or to obtain an opinion from a different professional who doesn't rely upon marijuana as a treatment modality.
