Croydon Creek Nature Center

I'm trying to think of ideas that are public-transportation accessible for me and the two young boys I take care of. The oldest is going to be 3 at the end of August, and his little brother is almost 14 months old.

One place that caught my eye is the Croydon Creek Nature Center in Rockville. Any experiences with this place? Is it suitable for young toddlers? How accessible is it for two young kids who are Deaf? I saw they have a toddler class but I doubt they would provide an interpreter (although I could be wrong) but we could just go for a morning and explore as well.

Thanks in advance.

We've done the toddler class there several times and it is always a lot of fun for my 2.5 yr old. Not sure how the 14 month old would get out of it but Karen, the lady who usually teaches, is very patient with the younger siblings. You would have to call about interpreters. It's small, so it would be good for an hour or so of entertainment without the class, not an entire afternoon. Have fun!

Thanks for the info

Maybe we will plan an hour or two one morning to go and check it out and if the class also would work, we could give one or two days in the class a try. The oldest does go to school 2-3 days a week during the school year and LOVES it so as long as it would meet our needs and interests I think he would get a lot out of it. His brother is pretty amiable, so if younger siblings are permitted I'm sure he would be ok.

Thanks again.

Me again! The classes are just here and there--like once a month, not a school type where you go often. You just sign up for whatever day you can go to. Little ones are definitely always hanging around.
