This can be manuals for grieving or memoir type books. I have lost a child.

So sorry, op. I would recommend "when bad things happen to good people."

I’m sorry, OP.

Different circumstances, but Joan Fusion’s Year of Magical Thinking resonated with me for the way she described the way your mind processes a loss.

None, actually. I wasn't able to focus on reading. But music helped and brisk walks.

I do find there are some comfort reads I return to when I'm feeling low, not specifically grieving though.

Do you have books you've found comfort in previously, that you could return to now?

I'm sorry OP. I read Isabelle Allende's "Paula" years ago about the loss of her daughter. It was beautifully written, and I cried throughout.

Joan Didion also lost her daughter not long after her husband died, and she wrote a second book “Blue Nights.”

A Heart that Works by Rob Delaney.

I am so sorry for your loss.

An Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination by Elizabeth Mcracken
Once More We Saw Stars - don't remember the author's name, his daughter died of head trauma in a traumatic accident
Comfort by Ann Hood

I have also heard Rob Delaney's book about his son is very, very good but I can't bring myself to read it yet. These are all books about young children. I don't know your specific situation but I am sending you love and peace.
