Antisemitic flyers in bags of rice left in Kensington neighborhood Saturday/Sunday overnight.

A bunch of homes on our street in Kensington got little ziplock bags with some rice inside along with a folded up pamphlet blaming Jews for everything from illegal immigration, LGBTQ hate, and being in control of Fox News, among others. A very weird mishmash of both left and right conspiracy nonsense. They were all placed on front walkways or driveways up and down the street. According to a neighbor her camera caught a lone male figure walking along the sidewalk at about 1:30am. Couldn’t make out any physical details other than he was short (like a little runt type of short), and probably younger and relatively fit based on his gait. He appeared to be masked, so I guess he’s still in pandemic-mode too, haha. According to the police, the rice is for adding some weight to the bags so they can be tossed easily, and keep them in place on the ground.

More than being angry, I’m just disappointed. FFS, at least have the courage of your beliefs to knock on my door and hand it to me in person. Don’t skulk around in the middle of the night like a creep. Have the balls to do this in daylight and take your chances when you knock. Freakin coward.

This happened last year in our Forest Glen neighborhood (Silver Spring). Someone was throwing them out of a car in the middle of the night.

I’m so sorry this happened. I have a number of Jewish friends in Kensington. I feel bad for them to have this in their neighborhood. I do wonder if it’s the same couple of people that did the painting on the trolley trail, at Whitman, and the hate bags.

Yes, I hope the police can investigate to see if all these hate crimes are related. People are accusing Whitman students and hating on white rich people, of course.

I’m in Kensington. What part?

I was just going to ask this. I’m a Jewish Kensington resident.

Ugh. There were KKK flyers using rice like that up in Germantown and Poolesville several years ago. Wonder if it’s the same folks.

Utter trash

I wonder if the person is mentally ill. Aren't the typical anti-Semites more coherent in who they blame?

We had a guy slip a stack of papers through our mailslot at 11pm a few weeks ago. It was a copy of his rant against the government for not paying his veterans' benefits or something.

No.

I wonder if it's related to the swastika graffiti recently found on desks at Silver Creek and Tilden.

Do you think the leafletting is targeted? It's easy enough to find out who lives on a certain street. I know a few jewish families who received the leaflets.

Why would it matter if Jews were behind illegal immigration and LGTB stuff? We like those things right? Now the Fox news stuff...

Reminder that

(1) positive stereotypes are still bad
(2) anti-Semitism is anti-Semitism regardless of the specifics

I’m so sorry. Wtf is happening in the county? Between the antisemitic graffiti earlier in the fall, swastikas on desks and antisemitic pamphlets. The county was always seemed to be very Jewish friendly in the past.

It's the annual KKK recruitment campaign. Unfortunately, they will probably get some new sign-ups.
