Best markers for poster board

We are at poster board project age. I am not a crafty parent. What markers are less likely to smear on the poster board? Crayola washable seems not ideal and smudgy.

We just buy adhesive pre-cut letters .
Otherwise sharpies |

We found crayola washable to be not that washable btw 
You need to catch them before it dries. |
